Sanderling
One of the iconic shorebirds for me. I used to call them “scuttlebirds” back before I tried to learn bird names! These little wave chasers are such a delight to watch and I highly recommend chilling on a beach and watching them do their thing!
Semipalmated Plover
Another high quality plover for my collection! One of the classic scuttling birds!
Semipalmated Sandpiper
According to wikipedia, these tiny shorebirds are “hard to distinguish form other shorebirds” and ain’t that the truth. However, they’re quite charming no matter their name!
American Oystercatcher
A pair of oystercatchers, taking a rest after chasing down some of their swift prey!
Greater Yellowlegs
Bird names can be so mean sometimes! Only Greater Yellowlegs? But there’s no Greatest Yellowlegs? Seems rude on the part of the bird-namers.
Common Redshank
Common?
Yeah that makes sense there were literally dozens, if not hundreds of them.
