Ruby-throated Hummingbird

This was a very unexpected spot! After walking a trail in a state part and moving on, a member of my family glanced back and asked “what’s that bird way up there?” And lo and behold it was this tiny little hummingbird! I quickly backtracked down the trail to get close, and while I did get a bunch of pictures, they’re basically all variations of this shot as I got closer!

Little bird is taking a rest way up high and overlooking its domain! Very cute!
