Reed Bunting

Spotted across the lake in Ueno park, I initially mistook these reed buntings for house sparrows (to be fair to me, I did actually spot house sparrows in these reeds on another occasion). I wish I had gotten some more pictures!

But with what I got, you can see the difference in the cap on the male. I think I have two different examples of one across the photos with the last photo being the female seen in the first, but I could be mistaken!

These hidden in the reeds buntings did not make my task of photographing them particularly easy! But they are very cute! Just look at how wide their legs go!
