Painted Turtle

One of the most common turtles of North America, here pictured in a collection! Honestly? I could’ve taken a much better photo if I stopped and tried a bit longer, but alas there were birds about and so I just snapped a handful and moved on.

When I was much younger, turtles on logs or rocks in rivers and streams were quite fun to spot! Much easier for my child-eyes to pick out and identify than high-flying warblers. Seeing some out there and taking photos of them makes me a bit nostalgic!
