Meadow Bunting

There’s a bird blind out in Hakone, just north of where the pirate ship and the cable cars connect! Taking a break from the busy touristy transit paths, Nova and I explored the local parks where… there was absolutely no one!

No one except this meadow bunting! From the bird blind, we watched him hop through some branches, take a quick splash of a bath in a creek, then nestle into the warm leaves to dry and warm up!

This bird is adorable! Look at how he is like a little flat loaf!
