Chipping Sparrow

With their chestnut-colored caps, these adorable little sparrows are a familiar sight, though I rarely get to photograph them! According to audubon, they used to be the omnipresent sparrow of North America before the House Sparrow took much of their turf! I do see many more House Sparrows than Chipping ones, so I believe it!

The first second and third shots are from the Grand Canyon! They’re not perfect, but solid enough. The next pair are through a window which does impact quality, but it’s still a rather large picture of them so I’m keeping them on here. I still quite like the cute pose of the second picture, despite the flaws.

I won’t always repost a bird when I get new images, but I will when the photos are a significant addition!

I’ve added a handful more photos of chipping sparrows from Acadia! There were lots of them out foraging every morning, and I got a lot of pictures of them with bugs in their beaks! The last image is from when one landed just above me on a forest trail! Very smooth looking belly on that bird.
