Brown-eared Bulbul

Starting Japan strong with one of my favorite pictures I’ve taken of a bird! A Brown-eared Bulbul at a Cherry Blossom Tree!
My trip to Japan was a little early in the season, but some of the cherry blossoms were starting to bloom. Not only did they attract tourists and locals, but they also attracted the local wildlife!
The lighting in this shot I feel is great, the pose, the sharpness… a lot of elements came together and I’m really proud of this one! The 2nd and 3rd photos are of course of the same bird in the same spot, which was at Ueno park.
The 4th and 5th pictures were at Yoyogi park and while they aren’t as beautiful photos, they are still great pictures of the bulbul! The last is another more humorous one of a bulbul feeding on a different type of flower on a different day.
I’m likely biased due to the great first set of photos those cherry blossom pictures were, but this bird rapidly became one of my favorites over the course of this trip!
