Black-headed Gull

On a chilly morning in Japan, Ueno park is a great place to find birds of all types! These gulls are no different! I think the first one looks particularly stately. Like they’re taking a photo for their office in a municipal government’s office.

The latter two are just birds on posts, but I like them, they have good shapes.

Gulls are particularly tough for me to ID. I feel like a lot of them have similar adolescent and/or winter plumage, so I’m judging based on the hints of their summer plumage just starting to come in here. Is this a black-headed gull? I think? Are they good pictures regardless? I think so!
