White-Throated Sparrow

These little sparrows are the number one reason I leave leaves in the Library’s yard over winter. Every day that the weather allows them, they're out there kicking at the leaves and ground to forage for food! Other birds do it too, but I feel like I see these distinct sparrows doing so most of all.

I wonder if they would ever group up and all kick a predator to try to drive it off? Probably not, but... it would be pretty impressive if they did.
