Smooth-Coated Otter

We spotted a handful of otters in Singapore’s botanic gardens! People who are more familiar with the local drama may be able to identify which otter family it’s a part of! And no, I don’t mean in the family/genus/species way.

The Bishan otters are an actual family of otters that live in Marina bay, and there’s a handful of other known families throughout Singapore (such as the Marina and Zouk families)! As Smooth-coated otters are endangered, people keep close track of them, and the otter families do get into territorial disputes that are publicized! It’s a fascinating read if that’s of interest to you!
