Pacific Swallow

A perfectly posed pacific swallow spotted at Sungei Buloh is the star of our first two pictures! He was thoroughly unbothered by the numerous people surrounding him. Why were there so many people near his perch? Why because he was perched atop one of the bird blinds—a structure specifically for birders to hide themselves from birds so they come out in the open! Seems this first swallow was keen on company by seeking out such a place!
The last image is from swan lake in Singapore’s botanic gardens. The swallows were darting down and grabbing sips of water or insects frequently. Not being able to tell with my eyes if they were the same type of swallow I had already captured in a picture or not, I spent quite a bit of time trying to get a good photo mid-swoop of one. In the end, one landed on a swan statue and I photographed it there, though it was rather far away!
