Little Grebe

Usually, I think bird names with things like “lesser”, “greater”, and similar such adjectives are a bit silly. After all, if I’m a new birder, how am I to know if there’s a bigger (or smaller) version of the bird I’m looking at?

For this bird though?

This is a certified Little Guy! Little Grebe makes perfect sense! Just look at these two! One was spotted in Ueno Park, the other in the moat outside of the Imperial Gardens. Very cute birds! I love their faces!
