Downy Woodpecker
A cute little woodpecker that is often hard to photograph due to being high up in trees, hidden by numerous branches, or both! The first two photos are newer ones, the rest are from early in my photography journey!
The first two pictures are of the same woodpecker who was being chased from tree to tree by either a female pileated or a hairy woodpecker (or rather, both were in the area, and neither would let this little guy hang out for long before bullying him away)! I felt bad for him, but since he was getting chased so much he ended up landing rather close to me, so I benefited a little at least!
