American Goldfinch

This pair of goldfinches was picking through the budding branches! I had a tougher time capturing the male since he was more in the branches and further away, but I'm very happy with how clear the picture of the female one is! Look at that coloration, the perfect camouflage for this time of year! And they need it too, a hawk had just taken out a squirrel in this same area only minutes before!
New photo alert! The final one is from Sieur de Monts! This little goldfinch was flitting about a large meadow before landing up on a tree, looking down at us, then going back to its business. Very fluffy looking morning bird!
